People of the Big Dig: Celia & Sherry from Share Tea

The DK! team went “digging” around in some of downtown Kingston’s most unique businesses to bring you the inside scoop on the front of staff you come face-to-face with every day. These employees are the backbone to the restaurants, shops, and services you rely on. Let’s dive right in and get to know “The People of the Big Dig!”

Celia & Sherry from Share Tea
318 Princess St.

On a hot sunny day, there’s nothing better than some cold refreshing tea! We stopped in at Sharetea and chatted with Celia and Sherry – two enthusiastic employees with smiling faces and superb work attitudes. Established in 1992, Sharetea started off business with to-go black tea and pearl milk tea drinks in Taipei, Taiwan. Today, there are numerous locations across the world spreading over 18 countries! This includes the Kingston location, right at 318 Princess St. Between the keen staff, wide variety of flavours, and insta-ready aesthetic, you’re sure to leave Sharetea feeling tea-riffic!

What is your favourite thing about downtown Kingston?

Celia: It may be small, but there’s always lots going on! It’s a great place to chill with friends and it’s nice because everything is close by.

What is your favourite product that you offer?

Sherry: I would have to say the Passionfruit GreenTea….. it’s the perfect refreshing drink, especially when it’s hot out!

What is your background?

Celia: I’m Taiwanese and I moved to Kingston for University. When I’m not serving up bubble tea in downtown Kingston I like binge watching Netflix!

Sherry: I am from Shanghai, and I also go to Queen’s – I just finished my first year in Nursing and I loved it!

What kind of music do you like to play at work?

Celia: Anything chill… lately I’ve been playing a lot of R&B, and we love to jam out while we work!

Most used emoji?

Sherry: Definitely the crying of laughter…. I use that all the time!

What is your spirit animal?

Celia: Oh! Definitely a rabbit!  My friends always tell me that I eat like a rabbit!

Sherry: I’m not sure but I think I would have to say a guinea pig! They are so cute and all they do is eat and sleep!
