People of the Big Dig: Pita Pete from Pita Pit

The DK! team went “digging” around in some of downtown Kingston’s most unique businesses to bring you the inside scoop on the front of staff you come face-to-face with every day. These employees are the backbone to the restaurants, shops, and services you rely on. Let’s dive right in and get to know “The People of the Big Dig!”

Meeting Pita Pete was a real treat! A celebrity in the downtown Kingston core, Pita Pit’s mascot spilled the beans on why downtown Kingston is the best place to work! Hungry for more? Here’s what DK! learned about everyone’s favourite mascot!

What is your favourite thing about downtown Kingston?

It’s hard to pick just one…I love the downtown core! My absolute favorite thing though would have to be all the small locally owned stores that give me the opportunity to support my community!

What is your favourite product that you guys offer?

The best part about Pita Pit is that I don’t have to pick just one product! #CreationNation means that there are endless possibilities and each day I can try a new combination! It never gets boring-trust me.

What is your background?

I was born in the Limestone City on July 20, 1995. When I’m not working here in Kingston, I’m travelling the globe to open other Pita Pit’s! Some of these trips have included New Zealand, Australia, India, France, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom, Brazil, Panama, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and of course, coast to coast in Canada and the USA! I also enjoy hanging out at local events, and of course at Richardson Stadium watching the Queen’s football games- Go Gaels Go!

If you could see anyone perform at the Rogers K-Rock Centre – who would it be?

In case you didn’t know I’m a bit of a sports fanatic, so this one’s easy! I would want to attend Kingston’s oldest and most famous rivalry… none other than the Carr-Harris Cup!

Do you like stinky cheese?

Like it? I love it!! Some smelly parm on a classic Chicken Caesar pita? There’s nothing quite like it!

What is your dream car?

Those of you who know me know that I’m not a small guy!! If I could find a car I could fit in…that would be enough for me!
